Last week the Outer Banks community gathered for an informative, thought-provoking and educational Community Forum to discuss the J-1 Work Travel program, organized by the Outer Banks ISOP (International Student Outreach Program). More than fifty representatives from J-1 Work Travel employers, sponsor organizations, Outer Banks Chamber of Commerce staff, Law Enforcement officials and other leading members of this great community attended.
The ISOP Committee would like to thank all in attendance: it is because of your work and commitment that these students will be successful in our community. How
ever the work is not done, and we are always looking to welcome new members to our group. Please visit www.OBXISOP.com/events for updates on when and where we are eeting. If you cannot attend a meeting, there are many other ways to donate time or services. For the summer season, we do need volunteers to help with welcome bags and student orientations, and once the students start arriving in May/June there will be ample opportunities to assist with housing, transportation, and cultural activities. And don’t forget to join the Facebook group and check out our website! Please contact OBXISOP@gmail.com for more information.
Thank you again to everyone who made a presentation and had an impact on this great event. We look forward to seeing you again.
